Job summary

NTT DATA is seeking a Senior Cloud Platform Engineer in the Dallas area to design, build, and maintain a private cloud based on VMware Cloud Foundation 9. You will automate VM lifecycles, implement API-driven workflows, and ensure high availability for critical banking apps.

The role requires deep VMware expertise, strong Linux/Windows administration, and a disciplined approach to security and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Extensive hands-on experience with VMware vSphere (ESXi/vCenter) at enterprise scale.
• Proven ability to deploy software-defined networking and security using VMware NSX.
• Strong knowledge of VMware Aria Suite (Automation, Operations).
• Deep understanding of VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) and SDDC Manager.
• OS administration for RHEL and Windows Server, plus basic networking.
• Automation via Ansible, Python scripting for APIs, and Terraform for provisioning.

Responsibilities

• Architect, deploy, and manage private cloud environments using VMware Cloud Foundation 9.
• Design automated workflows for VM lifecycle, day-two operations, and API integrations.
• Oversee OS and network layers, ensuring core services and guest OS performance.
• Monitor and tune infrastructure for high availability and cost efficiency.
• Enforce security policies, RBAC, and regulatory compliance for banking apps.
• Mentor junior admins and drive IaC adoption across the team.
