Job summary

Cimarron is seeking a Network Virtualization Engineer to support MDA on the IRES contract at Schriever Space Force Base, CO. The role demands deep VMware NSX/vSphere/vSAN expertise, DoD compliance, and leadership capabilities.

First shift with possible overtime; requires US citizenship and Secret clearance readiness. Candidates must have 10+ years of general experience and 5+ years in relevant roles, plus DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification.

Qualifications

U.S. citizens only due to facility security requirements.
Ability to obtain Secret Clearance in a reasonable timeframe.
DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification is required.
10+ years of general full-time work experience.
5+ years of directly related network/ virtualization experience.
1+ year in a management or leadership role.
Experience with VPN, DNS, HTTP, SMTP, SSL and NSX networking.
Strong written and verbal communication skills; proficient with PowerPoint/Visio.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot VMware protocols, switching, and best-practice configurations.
Perform wide range of VMware system administration activities with minimal supervision.
Provide root-cause analysis for critical problems.
Collaborate with system admins, network engineers, and cybersecurity staff.
Conduct vulnerability remediation and DoD compliance activities.
Monitor systems, perform backups/restores, and apply upgrades.
Document changes in official records to capture historical data.
