Job summary

Westinghouse Electric Company LLC in Shoreview, MN, is seeking a QC Inspector Level III to lead the visual weld inspection and support other inspection processes. You will report to the QEHS Manager and work 100% onsite at Shoreview, MN.

The role requires 5+ years of quality experience, 3+ years visual weld inspection, ANSI II certification within 3 months, and ability to lift up to 55 lbs. Strong documentation and collaboration skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• 5+ years of quality experience are required.
• 3+ years of visual weld inspection experience is required.
• Experience with metal fabrication, assemblies, and inspections of complex electromechanical machine assemblies is required.
• ANSI level II certification in multiple inspection disciplines within first 3 months is required.
• Able to sit/stand/squat/climb/reach and lift up to 55 lbs.
• Vision acuity for near/far and color differentiation is required.
• Industry certifications (ASNT, AWS CWI, ASQ) are preferred.
• Magnetic particle and dye penetrant inspections knowledge is preferred.
• Accredited program certification/degree in related fields is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform visual weld inspection activities.
• Collaborate with welders, weld engineering, and suppliers on WPS/PQR documentation.
• Inspect components, fabrications and assemblies for specification compliance.
• Ensure compliance with drawings, procedures, codes, and regulations.
• Conduct basic dimensional inspection using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, depth gauges, pin gauges and thread gauges.
• Interface with manufacturing, engineering, quality and supply chain to resolve issues.
• Identify and document items not meeting specifications.
• Prepare and archive quality documentation.
