Job summary

Google Inc. is seeking a Senior Visual Designer to shape the visual future of YouTube on TVs, the living room screen with billions of users. You will craft the language of TV design systems and elevate aesthetics, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver beautiful, accessible experiences.

You will lead design system initiatives, author components, and help integrate AI-assisted prototyping into the workflow, ensuring consistency with Google design language across products.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 6 years of visual design experience in product design or UX/UI design.
  • Experience using Figma to design, maintain, and component libraries and design systems.

Responsibilities

  • Craft, maintain, and evolve the Living Room design system component library, driving alignment with engineering and core foundations through robust documentation, strict variable consistency, and token adoption.
  • Lead the integration of AI-assisted workflows into our design pipeline to enable rapid, high-fidelity prototyping of next-generation visual styles and experimental TV interaction patterns.
  • Leverage principal contributors to explore concept development to influence product, a point-of-view around visual style, and product commitments.
  • Defend YouTube products, our brand promise, and its unique value proposition amid an interlaced relationship with YouTube's master brand.
  • Partner with visual programs within our organization to evolve and apply new design styles and aesthetics for our suite of products.

Preferred qualifications:


  • Master's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

  • 3 years of experience working in a complex, cross-functional organization.

  • 2 years of experience leading design projects.

  • Experience with motion design, interactive prototyping, and front-end web technologies (such as HTML and CSS).

  • Experience with AI-assisted design workflows, vibe coding, or connecting design systems to development environments (such as Model Context Protocol).

  • Experience designing and implementing user interfaces (UIs) for TV platforms or smart TV devices.
