About the job
The Wikimedia Foundation is looking for a Senior Visual Designer who is passionate about the power of brand, design, and technology to change the world. You will be our brand Design ambassador, responsible for building an iconic memorable brand that pushes for real impact within the Wikimedia movement and for the world.
You’ll report to the Creative Director and oversee and lead projects from start to finish, confident with overseeing a project’s timelines and stakeholder management. You will also work with the Senior Brand Manager to further develop and maintain the Wikimedia, Wikimedia Foundation and Wikipedia visual identity systems. You push for an exceptional level of design and brand consistency to deliver high-quality work in time.
A master of design and brand building, who enjoys designing across various touchpoints, from small ad-hoc projects and design requests, identity toolkits to large-scale global products and campaigns. In addition to hands-on design, you are comfortable overseeing and managing design vendors on a range of projects.
You do everything with the goal of expressing the essence of Wikipedia/Wikimedia, with a vision that speaks to people who need free knowledge around the world.

The Wikimedia Foundation is a remote-first organization with staff members including contractors based in 40+ countries. Salaries at the Wikimedia Foundation are set in a way that is competitive, equitable, and consistent with our values and culture. The anticipated annual pay range of this position for applicants based within the United States is US$90,223 to US$139,037 with multiple individualized factors, including cost of living in the location, being the determinants of the offered pay. For applicants located outside of the US, the pay range will be adjusted to the country of hire. We neither ask for nor take into consideration the salary history of applicants. The compensation for a successful applicant will be based on their skills, experience and location.
