Job summary

Google Inc. is seeking a Staff Visual Designer Lead for YouTube Shorts and Creation to drive scalable visual systems, brand experiences, and cross-functional collaboration. You will influence the visual direction across surfaces, ensuring accessibility and beauty.

Join a multi-disciplinary team to translate user insights into industry-leading design, mentor peers, and advance the Google design language for short-form video and AI-enabled creativity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience in product design or UX.
• 5 years of experience in video editing and mobile products, or 4 years in consumer product experiences.

Responsibilities

• Establish visual strategies that reinforce user-centered mental models for new features, including visual branding/identity and motion design.
• Reimagine Shorts surfaces and experiences by leveraging and evolving YouTube’s design system in partnership with YouTube’s central design system team.
• Create designs within technical constraints and demonstrate the direction with prototypes.
• Provide direction to UX designers and develop visual design frameworks that can be leveraged by UX designers.
• Drive design solutions based on user insights, business needs, and industry trends that further business outcomes.
