Job summary

University of Utah Health seeks a Senior Visual Communications Designer specializing in executive and internal communications. This senior role distills complex leadership messages into compact, visual-first assets for a large, four-mission organization (healthcare, academics, research, community).

You will navigate Adobe and Microsoft ecosystems and leverage AI to build self-serve, on-brand templates for leadership use.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s in Graphic Design or Visual Communication (or equivalent).
10 years design experience, preferably including internal/corporate communications or presentation design.
Equivalency accepted as alternative to degree and/or experience.

Responsibilities

Translate leadership communications into visual systems and infographics.
Manage multiple concurrent projects with competing priorities.
Choose the appropriate tools and platforms for each asset to ensure longevity and reuse.
Design standardized presentation templates and brand toolkits with AI integration.
Create and maintain templates aligned to the university brand and style guide.
Provide design consultation to internal teams on decisions and usage.
Produce motion, animation, and transition graphics for enhanced comprehension.
Organize and maintain cloud file structures and sharing conventions.
Present design solutions persuasively to leadership and stakeholders.
