Senior Virtualization Engineer

Job summary

DRW is seeking an experienced OpenStack and virtualization platform engineer to own and improve the infrastructure for a high-performance trading environment. You will automate repetitive tasks, design OpenStack clouds, and troubleshoot complex multi-team problems across compute, storage, and networking.

You will guide architecture, set engineering standards, mentor engineers, and participate in outages and on-call rotations to ensure operational excellence and cost efficiency.

Qualifications

• Expert level proficiency in administration of OpenStack.
• Deep knowledge of networking, storage, Linux, and virtualization fundamentals.
• Proficiency with industry-standard IAC tooling, such as Terraform and Ansible.
• Scripting/coding experience in multiple languages, such as Python, Golang, and Bash.
• Experience maintaining, deploying, and configuring server hardware.
• Experience deploying virtual machines.
• Service-focused attitude.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work across teams and have evidence-based discussions on technical and operational topics.
