Job summary

AMD in Austin seeks a Virtual Platform Functional Modeling Engineer to define and deliver the framework powering AMD's pre-silicon validation across CPU, GPU, AI platforms. You will work at the intersection of architecture, firmware, software, emulation, and validation to build scalable distributed simulation environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field; Master’s preferred.
• Experience with functional models and pre-silicon validation.
• Strong C++ software development skills in modeling/systems software.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with firmware, software, validation, and emulation teams to enhance virtual platform capabilities.
• Define and implement inter-node communication within distributed simulation environments.
• Design and improve simulation orchestration services including scheduling, synchronization, logging, and deterministic execution.
• Develop model interfaces, adapters, and platform assembly methodologies for scalable integration.
• Create validation strategies, regression suites, debug infrastructure, trace capabilities, and CI/CD automation.
• Partner with architecture, firmware, software, and system validation teams to align functionality with requirements.
• Evaluate technologies to improve modeling productivity and scalability.
• Contribute to documentation, knowledge sharing, and engagement with open-source communities.
