Job summary

EDAG Mexico is seeking a Senior Virtual Commissioning Engineer to design and develop virtual commissioning and simulation models for automotive and general-industry environments. You will create digital models to validate systems, reflect the physical plant, and support an efficient engineering workflow.

You will collaborate with mechanical, electrical, controls, and software teams, deliver workshops and demos, and help build the US pipeline across automotive and logistics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in automation/electrical/mechatronics.
• Experience with virtual commissioning and simulation platforms.
• Knowledge of automotive manufacturing processes.
• Experience improving engineering workflows or toolchains for model-based development.
• Existing network in US automotive, supplier, logistics, or mechanical engineering manufacturing.
• Customer-facing/pre-sales or training experience is a plus.
• Strong expertise in at least one: CAD design, PLC programming, robot programming, or electrical design.
• Several years of relevant experience in virtual commissioning, digital twin development, or industrial simulation.
• Hands-on experience with machine/plant software and commissioning activities (preferred).
• Programming in higher-level languages (e.g., C#) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop virtual commissioning and simulation models for automated production equipment and processes.
• Create digital models to support virtual validation of systems, controls, and process behavior.
• Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, controls, and software teams to ensure models reflect the physical system and support workflow.
• Support validation and testing using digital models to identify issues early and improve commissioning readiness.
• Develop utilities, automation workflows, and model-generation tools to improve efficiency and standardization.
• Track tasks, document findings, and communicate results to project stakeholders.
