Qualifications

• National Certified Medical Interpreter or WA State interpreter certification at hire.
• 1 year of interpretation experience in a medical clinic or hospital setting.
• 3 years of interpretation experience in a medical clinic or hospital setting.
• 2 years of translation experience; training in translation competencies preferred.
• Must pass a competency exam and skills assessment.
• Professional training in translation or equivalent experience.
• TMS Translation memory system experience (SDL Trados or MemoQ).
• Experience with Adobe or InDesign.
• Prior video interpreting experience.
• Experience in training adults.

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate on-site interpretation in two or more languages with emphasis on Vietnamese.
• Demonstrate advanced proficiency in oral and written English and at least one foreign language.
• Maintain fluent English pronunciation for clarity.
• Deliver professional medical interpreting with strong medical terminology.
• Ensure linguistically appropriate care by facilitating effective communication in clinical settings.
