Job summary

Hearst is seeking a Senior Shooter/Editor for Men's Health and Women's Health to craft compelling video storytelling across digital, social, and broadcast platforms. This hands-on role combines camera/lighting craft with editorial judgment to shape projects from production through final edit.

You will lead shoots, define visual direction, collaborate with producers and talent, and oversee post-production, ensuring a cohesive style for both brands from concept to delivery.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional video editing and motion design experience.
• Extensive camera and production experience with strong lighting and camera skills.
• Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Premiere Pro; After Effects; familiarity with Avid MC or DaVinci.

Responsibilities

• Shoot and edit video for Men's Health and Women's Health across digital, social, and broadcast platforms.
• Lead shooter on a significant portion of productions, managing camera, lighting, composition, movement, and sound.
• Shape and maintain a strong visual style for both brands and communicate direction with teams.
• Edit stories from rough cut to final delivery, balancing pacing, polish, sound, and continuity.
• Collaborate with producers and editorial teams from pre-production through delivery.
• Direct and work with high-profile talent on set, ensuring a professional environment.
• Brief and oversee freelance camera/production crews while upholding safety and quality.
• Manage media workflows, including ingesting, organizing, archiving, and hand-off footage.
• Apply motion design, color correction, and grading as needed in post-production workflows.
• Bring fresh visual ideas to the brands and adapt to evolving formats and audiences.
