Job summary
Rate is seeking a Senior Video Editor in Chicago to lead top-tier video editing for social-first storytelling across Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn, and paid media. You will collaborate with Creative Directors to turn raw footage and concepts into compelling narratives, shaping structure, pacing, sound, and visual language for varied formats, from short-form to longer pieces.
The role requires a strong portfolio, expert Premiere Pro and After Effects skills, and the ability to manage
Qualifications
- Strong portfolio or reel demonstrating senior-level editing craft.
- Significant professional video editing experience across social, digital, branded, advertising, or creator-led content.
Responsibilities
- Own edits from raw footage through final delivery across social, paid, brand, and digital channels.
- Find the strongest story within material, even from a loose brief or limited direction.
- Create openings that grab attention with pacing, structure, sound, and visual rhythm.
- Apply typography, motion, transitions, graphics, sound design, and compositing to strengthen the story.
- Partner with Creative Directors from concept through final execution and share work early.
