The Opportunity

The Senior Vice President, Project Management is the enterprise delivery leader responsible for translating Stratus strategy and customer commitments into predictable, profitable, and high-quality execution across the Project Management organization. This role provides executive leadership for project delivery, portfolio performance, delivery readiness, resource and capacity planning, project financial performance, risk and issue management, execution standards, and the overall operating system that supports effective project delivery. The SVP leads through senior Project Management leaders and is accountable for building a disciplined, scalable organization capable of consistently delivering complex programs and portfolios.

Working closely with Sales, Customer Success, Business Solutions, Finance/FP&A, Manufacturing, Operations, and other key functions, the SVP establishes clear ownership, disciplined handoffs, and strong governance from opportunity and readiness through execution, closeout, and continuous improvement. The role ensures commitments are made with appropriate visibility to capacity, scope, schedule, risk, financial expectations, and operational readiness while maintaining clear functional accountability across the organization.

The SVP is also responsible for strengthening Project Management capability, ensuring leaders and teams identify and resolve issues at the appropriate level, proactively manage portfolio health, and elevate systemic risks with clear facts, options, and recommendations.

Responsibilities

Enterprise Leadership & Strategy

  • Lead Vice Presidents, Program Directors, and senior Project Management leaders; establish clear expectations for delivery, financial performance, talent, quality, capacity, governance, and operating discipline.
  • Translate enterprise Project Management strategy into annual operating priorities, organizational design, capacity plans, leadership objectives, investment needs, and measurable business outcomes.
  • Build a scalable, high-performing Project Management organization through succession planning, leadership development, strategic hiring, role design, and organizational capability building.
  • Escalate systemic delivery risks, capacity constraints, investment needs, and structural barriers with clear facts, options, and recommendations.

Delivery & Portfolio Governance

  • Provide executive oversight of the end-to-end delivery lifecycle, ensuring disciplined handoffs, evidence-based readiness, clear ownership, and accountability from opportunity through planning, execution, closeout, and continuous improvement.
  • Lead portfolio governance and executive operating reviews that integrate project health, schedule, forecast, margin, quality, capacity, readiness, talent, risk, and corrective actions.
  • Own executive-level governance of material delivery risks, actions, issues, and decisions, ensuring early visibility, clear ownership, recovery plans, milestones, and closure.
  • Lead the Project Management delivery escalation process, maintaining accountability for delivery recovery and execution while partnering with Customer Success on customer-facing escalations.
  • Establish and continuously improve Project Management standards, readiness gates, decision rights, operating rhythms, performance measures, and role clarity.
  • Ensure exceptions to established readiness and governance standards are supported by clear rationale, documented risk, accountable ownership, mitigation plans, and defined timelines.

Financial & Operational Performance

  • Own Project Management delivery performance against approved commercial and financial baselines, including project forecasts, revenue timing assumptions, margin performance, scope and change recovery, productivity, and corrective actions.
  • Partner with Finance/FP&A to provide accurate project-level forecast inputs and support billing readiness, revenue recognition, receivables, working capital, and financial risk management.
  • Own Project Management capacity planning and workload health, aligning resources to demand, complexity, financial expectations, and delivery risk.
  • Drive disciplined adoption of IFS, PPM, Harmony/AI, and other approved enterprise systems to improve visibility, standardization, productivity, and decision-making.
  • Reduce duplicate reporting, shadow systems, and administrative burden by establishing clear systems of record, governance, and execution.

Cross-Functional & Customer Leadership

  • Partner with Sales to assess delivery feasibility, capacity, schedule, execution risk, and commercial handoffs while maintaining clear Sales ownership of pipeline, pricing, revenue strategy, and commercial commitments.
  • Partner with Customer Success on portfolio health, customer communications, recovery planning, and delivery performance while maintaining Customer Success ownership of the strategic customer relationship, retention, and customer escalations.
  • Partner with Business Solutions to ensure solution architecture, scope, estimating, technical design, and order-readiness outputs support executable delivery commitments.
  • Partner with Manufacturing and Operations to integrate functional readiness, capacity constraints, dependencies, and execution risks into project plans and customer commitments.
  • Maintain clear cross-functional ownership and disciplined handoffs through consistent use of RACI, RAID, readiness standards, and authoritative enterprise data.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, operations, project management, finance, or related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience across project/program/portfolio management, customer delivery, operations, manufacturing, service, or comparable complex execution environments preferred.
  • 5+ years leading managers, senior leaders, or multi-layer organizations with significant delivery, financial, talent, capacity, and organizational accountability preferred.
  • Demonstrated ownership of a significant Project Management, delivery, business-unit, division, customer/portfolio organization, or comparable operation, including revenue/margin performance, forecast inputs, expense, capacity, investment, and performance tradeoffs.
  • Proven leadership of complex multi-site, national, or enterprise programs and executive operating reviews that translate delivery, financial, customer, capacity, and risk data into decisions and recovery actions.
  • Demonstrated success improving delivery predictability, project margin, forecast accuracy, portfolio health, quality, productivity, organizational capability, and scalability; transformation, turnaround, redesign, or rapid-growth experience is strongly valued.
