A leading energy firm is seeking a Senior Vice President (SVP) of Operations to provide strategic oversight of renewable energy assets, including solar and wind technologies. The ideal candidate will have over 15 years of progressive experience in renewables management and strong leadership skills. This remote position includes responsibilities for asset optimization, team mentorship, and regulatory compliance. A bachelor's degree is required; an MBA is preferred. Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and operational oversight of renewable energy assets.

• Oversee regulatory, environmental, health, safety, and grid compliance and permits.
• Drive M&A integration and support project onboarding and divestitures.
• Manage key commercial agreements including PPAs, tax equity, O&M and service contracts.
• Lead risk management initiatives, contingency planning, and insurance oversight.
• Serve as primary interface for investors, lenders, regulators, utilities, and partners.
• Foster a culture of safety, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Location: Remote - East-coast

Compensation: LTIP + Performance based bonus ~30%

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and operational oversight of a large, geographically diverse portfolio of renewable energy assets (solar, battery storage, wind).
• Lead and mentor high-performing teams in asset management, operations & maintenance (O&M), and performance analytics across all technologies.
• Develop and execute strategies for asset optimization, operational efficiency, revenue maximization, and cost reduction.
• Oversee all stages of the asset lifecycle, from commissioning through to retirement/decommissioning.
• Ensure assets meet or exceed performance, reliability, and financial KPIs through robust operations and advanced monitoring tools (e.g., SCADA systems, digital asset management platforms, data analytics).
• Build and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial models; oversee profitability and ensure alignment with corporate goals.
• Oversee regulatory, environmental, health, safety, and grid compliance, maintaining all necessary permits, licenses, and standards.
• Drive M&A integration and support the technical and operational aspects of project onboarding and divestitures.
• Manage key commercial agreements, including PPAs, tax equity structures, O&M and service contracts.
• Lead risk management initiatives, including contingency planning, operational risk mitigation, and insurance oversight.
• Serve as the primary interface for stakeholders: investors, lenders, board, regulatory agencies, utilities, contractors, and service providers.
• Foster a culture of safety, innovation, and continuous improvement throughout teams and processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (engineering, business, finance, or related); advanced degree (MBA or similar) strongly preferred.
• 15+ years of progressive experience in renewables portfolio management, operations, or finance; prior executive leadership preferred.
• Deep expertise in solar, BESS, and wind technologies, with proven ability to manage technical, commercial, and regulatory matters.
• Strong track record of enhancing asset performance and profitability through data-driven strategy and best practices.
• Demonstrated success leading large teams and working cross-functionally.
• Contract negotiation and stakeholder engagement experience.
• Outstanding communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
