Job description

Tango Therapeutics is a biotechnology company dedicated to discovering novel drug targets and delivering the next generation of precision medicine for the treatment of cancer.

Using an approach that starts and ends with patients, Tango leverages the genetic principle of synthetic lethality to discover and develop therapies that take aim at critical targets in cancer.

This includes expanding the universe of precision oncology targets into novel areas such as tumor suppressor gene loss and their contribution to the ability of cancer cells to evade immune cell killing.

The Tango labs and offices are located at 201 Brookline Avenue, in the Fenway area of Boston, Massachusetts.

Summary

The Senior Vice President (SVP) of Market Access is a critical enterprise leader responsible for architecting and executing the overarching market access, patient services, pricing, and distribution vision for Tango Therapeutics. As the company transitions from a research-stage biotech into a fully integrated commercial organization, this executive will define the access roadmap for our pipeline of precision synthetic lethality oral medicines.

Reporting directly to the Chief Commercialization Officer and serving as a key pillar of the Commercial Leadership Team, the SVP will build a world-class market access infrastructure from the ground up. This leader will ensure that the clinical promise of our assets is met with frictionless patient access, optimized commercial value, and sustainable market positioning on a global scale.

Your Role:
Enterprise leadership & Organizational Design
  • Architect the Access Function: Design, build, and scale a best-in-class, fully integrated market access organization capable of supporting multiple oral oncology product launches
  • Executive Mentorship: Lead, empower, and mentor a high-performing leadership team encompassing critical functions across global value and access, health economics and outcomes research (HEOR), strategic operations, patient services, trade operations, and payer strategy
  • Cross-Functional Vision: Serve as the strategic anchor for market access within the C-suite and across the enterprise, ensuring that value demonstration, pricing elasticity, and payer insights are embedded into early-stage asset development and overarching commercial strategy
Strategic Priorities:
Global Value & Health Economics
  • Value Proposition Strategy: Champion the enterprise-wide value proposition, directing the strategic generation of Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR) to support compelling, evidence-based narratives for health technology assessments and global payers
  • Global Access Alignment: Oversee the integration of U.S. and Ex-U.S. access strategies, ensuring a cohesive global approach to value demonstration and market entry
  • Innovative Pricing Paradigms: Formulate sophisticated launch pricing, gross-to-net (GTN) strategies, and contracting frameworks that maximize product value and ensure favorable positioning across Commercial, Medicare Part D, and Medicaid segments
  • Policy Anticipation & Advocacy: Act as the organization's foremost authority on the evolving healthcare policy landscape (e.g., Medicare Part D redesigns, PBM legislation), proactively steering corporate strategy to mitigate risks and capitalize on market shifts
  • Government Pricing Optimization: Deep understanding of government programs and calculations. Proven ability to forecast the structural impacts of federal pricing programs, ensuring access strategies align with long‑term portfolio revenue goals
  • Strategic Distribution Network: Architect an optimal, scalable specialty pharmacy (SP) and distribution network tailored exclusively for high-value oral oncology therapeutics, balancing network control with broad community oncology access
  • Best-in-Class Patient Support: Define the vision for Tango’s Patient Services and hub infrastructure, driving strategies that eliminate access friction, optimize time-to-therapy, and deliver superior patient experience
What You Bring:
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree (MBA, PharmD, MPH, or related discipline) strongly preferred
