Job description

We are seeking a proactive, commercially driven business leader to lead a national paving and site services business, with full responsibility for strategy, growth, operations and financial performance. The role oversees the end-to-end business, delivering services to national and multi-site customers through an established network of certified delivery partners. The successful candidate will drive profitable organic growth, strengthen customer and partner relationships, improve operational consistency and maintain clear accountability across all areas of the business.

A key priority is expanding existing customer relationships, converting project-based work into recurring maintenance programmes and ensuring consistent quality, communication and service delivery across all markets.

Key Responsibilities
Business Leadership & P&L Ownership
  • Lead the business from pipeline development and estimating through project delivery, billing, collections and closeout.
  • Own overall financial performance, including revenue, gross margin, EBITDA, backlog and cash flow.
  • Establish clear accountability, identify risks early and drive timely, effective resolution.
Growth & Customer Relationships
  • Deliver sustainable, profitable year-on-year revenue growth.
  • Expand existing accounts, increase share of wallet and convert project work into multi-year agreements and recurring service programmes.
  • Partner with sales leadership on account planning, target markets and go-to-market strategy.
  • Build senior-level relationships with key national and multi-site customers, leading business reviews, renewals and escalations.
  • Maintain an accurate, well-managed sales pipeline and proactively identify new opportunities.
Operations & Service Delivery
  • Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to consistently high standards.
  • Standardise processes, procedures and communication throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Monitor customer satisfaction, resolve service issues promptly and implement continuous improvements.
Partner Network Management
  • Develop and expand partner coverage and capacity across key markets.
  • Measure partner performance against safety, quality, scheduling, communication and billing KPIs.
  • Build strong, long-term partner relationships while addressing underperformance.
  • Oversee estimating, pricing, contract management, job costing, budgeting and forecasting.
  • Ensure bids are commercially sound, risks are appropriately managed and handovers to operations are effective.
  • Protect margins through disciplined scope management, change orders, working capital control and timely invoicing and collections.
  • Champion a safety-first culture and ensure compliance with applicable regulatory, customer and company requirements.
  • Lead and develop senior functional leaders across estimating, operations and partner network management.
  • Establish clear objectives, KPIs and performance expectations.
  • Build a high-performing, accountable team focused on customer service, ownership and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
  • 10-15+ years of leadership experience in commercial construction, paving, facilities services or service-based contracting.
  • Proven full P&L ownership of a business exceeding $100M, with a track record of profitable organic growth.
  • Experience managing national or multi-site customer accounts and developing recurring revenue streams.
  • Demonstrated success leading subcontractor or partner-delivered services across multiple markets.
  • Strong knowledge of estimating, pricing, project management and field operations; asphalt paving experience strongly preferred.
  • Proven ability to implement scalable processes, SOPs, performance metrics and reporting systems.
  • Strong financial acumen, including forecasting, job costing, margin management and working capital.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience with Salesforce or a comparable CRM, alongside project management and reporting tools.
  • A track record of building high-performing teams, making sound commercial decisions and driving accountability.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, construction management, engineering or a related discipline preferred.
