Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation is seeking a Vibroacoustics and Shock Engineer (Engineering Specialist/Sr Engineering Specialist) to advance test practice and technical support across defense and civil space programs. You will lead assessments, guide instrumentation selection, and mentor staff while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Minimum requirements include a Mechanical/Structural/Aerospace Engineering degree, 6+ years of experience, and proficiency in vibroacoustics analysis.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Structural, or Aerospace Engineering or similar field.
  • 6+ years of applicable professional or academic experience.
  • Experience in dynamic environments testing, instrumentation selection/setup, and analysis.
  • Knowledge of vibroacoustics computational methods and FEM/EA analysis.
  • Proficiency using Wave6 or similar vibroacoustics tools; Python skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively identify areas of development in environmental standards or analysis and drive execution.
  • Lead technical assessments and coordinate work across teams and programs.
  • Conduct dynamic environments testing and select/setup instrumentation.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to staff.
  • Engage with industry and command updates to test philosophy and practice.
