Job summary

Raven Software in Middleton, WI is seeking a Senior VFX Artist to own VFX tasks, deliver industry-leading visuals for the Call of Duty franchise, and partner with cross-disciplinary teams to elevate gameplay and cinematics.

You will prototype effects, optimize performance for console and PC, mentor teammates, and maintain a high bar for quality while collaborating across art, design, and engineering to push the boundaries of real-time VFX.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of Visual Effects experience in real-time game development or equivalent film/television.
• N/A
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
• Proven ability to manage VFX tasks independently and follow through with strong execution.
• Expert experience with game development engines and particle effects tools (Unreal, Unity, or equivalent).
• Strong experience with 2D/3D software such as Photoshop, After Effects, Maya, Houdini, Substance Designer, EmberGen, or similar.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with VFX Lead, Art Director and cross-discipline partners to bring ambience to environments, gameplay, and cinematics.
• Craft and implement particle effects and systems that communicate essential game information.
• Meet and exceed visual and technical quality targets for AAA VFX.
• Prototype VFX systems and improve workflows to meet gameplay needs.
• Contribute to VFX R&D and optimize tools and processes for better quality.
• Research references to provide authentic and grounded visuals.
• Take direction and own day-to-day VFX execution and milestones.
• Partner with artists, designers and programmers to ensure performance and quality.
