Job summary

Raven Software in Middleton, WI is seeking a Senior VFX Artist to own VFX development for Call of Duty franchise projects. The role focuses on leading particle effects, shaders, and tools across gameplay, cinematics, and environments.

You will collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams, prototype systems, and drive visual quality to AAA standards, while mentoring others and contributing to production efficiencies. This onsite role is four days per week.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of Visual Effects experience in real-time game development or equivalent film/TV work.
• Excellent collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to learn new software quickly and adapt to proprietary tools.
• Proven ability to manage VFX tasks independently with strong execution.
• Expert experience with game engines and particle effects tools (Unreal, Unity or equivalents).
• Strong experience with 2D/3D software (Photoshop, After Effects, Maya, Max, Houdini, Substance Designer, EmberGen).
• Strong understanding of real-time VFX workflows, physics simulations, shader development and post-processing techniques.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with VFX Lead, Art Director and cross-discipline partners to bring ambience, life and drama to environments, gameplay and cinematics.
• Craft and implement particle effects and systems that communicate essential in-game information.
• Meet and exceed visual and technical quality targets for AAA-worthy VFX.
• Prototype VFX systems, particle materials and workflows to fit tone and gameplay needs.
• Contribute to VFX R&D, streamline tools and processes with best practices.
