Job summary

Bristol Myers Squibb is seeking a Senior Associate Scientist in Veterinary Sciences to provide advanced technical and scientific support across laboratory animal care and in vivo research programs. You will design, execute, and document preclinical studies while upholding animal welfare, regulatory compliance, and scientific integrity.

The role involves monitoring animal health across species, assisting in procedures, and maintaining regulatory records within a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Academic or industry experience in veterinary sciences or related life sciences.
• Certification in AALAS LAT or LATG preferred.
• Experience with multiple animal species in preclinical studies.
• Familiarity with IACUC, USDA and AAALAC requirements.
• Ability to manage concurrent studies with accuracy and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Provide veterinary and technical support for laboratory animals.
• Monitor animal health, clinical signs, and behavior; report findings.
• Administer medications and verify dosing across species.
• Assist in veterinary procedures including anesthesia, dental, wound care, and surgery.
• Maintain accurate regulatory-compliant study records and logs.
• Support investigators and discovery teams across preclinical programs.
• Ensure ongoing compliance with IACUC, USDA, AAALAC requirements.

Education

BS/BA in Veterinary Technology, Animal Science, Biology or related life science

Master's Degree + 2+ years experience

AALAS LAT/LATG certification preferred

Laboratory animal science & preclinical research

IACUC, USDA, AAALAC compliance

Strong communication & documentation
