Job summary

Bristol Myers Squibb is seeking a Senior Associate Scientist in Veterinary Sciences to provide advanced technical and scientific support across laboratory animal care, health management, and in vivo research programs.

The role acts as a subject matter resource for the veterinary team, contributing to design, execution, and documentation of preclinical and discovery studies while upholding animal welfare, regulatory compliance, and scientific integrity.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in Veterinary Technology, Animal Science, Biology or related field with 4+ years academic/industry experience OR Master’s with 2+ years experience.
• AALAS LAT/LATG certification preferred.
• Experience in laboratory animal science or preclinical research with multi-species expertise.
• Strong knowledge of IACUC, USDA, and AAALAC requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide veterinary and technical support for laboratory animals.
• Monitor animal health status, clinical signs, and behavior; report to clinical veterinarian.
• Administer medications and verify dosing across species.
• Assist in veterinary procedures and surgeries.
• Maintain accurate, compliant study records and logs.
• Support investigators and multidisciplinary teams across early preclinical programs.
• Provide hands-on technical support for discovery study models.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements at all times.
