Job summary

This position, within the Center for Veterinary Biologics at the US Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service, develops, implements, and maintains national regulatory policy for the veterinary biologics industry. The role works independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team to ensure consistency, fairness, and compliance.

Qualifications

• One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level.
• Engaging in the manufacturing or development of veterinary biological products or engaging in the use or development of animal disease tests.
• Experience in virology, microbiology, immunology, molecular biology, pharmacology, epidemiology or related scientific field within veterinary medicine.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement and maintain national regulatory policy for veterinary biologics.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure policy is fair and compliant.
• Evaluate clinical, immunological or microbiological characteristics of veterinary biological products.
