Job summary

CGS seeks a Senior Veritas Enterprise Vault Engineer to join a fast-paced team in Austin, TX. The role focuses on configurations, maintenance, monitoring, and troubleshooting, with responsibilities spanning change control, storage migrations, and incident response.

The engineer will automate tasks with PowerShell and VBScript, coordinate vendor support, and help migrate systems to cloud infrastructure. The role requires executive-level expertise, daily system monitoring, and adherence to SLAs

Qualifications

• Participate in teleconferences or technical meetings to review objectives and provide status updates.
• Perform configurations, maintenance, monitoring, and troubleshooting using current documentation.
• Record configurations change requests through the change control board and track progress.
• Process storage requests, migrations and decommission tasks with attention to detail.
• Monitor failed system components and coordinate vendor and site support as needed.
• Respond to monitoring alerts with prompt corrective actions and escalation when required.
• Complete scheduled maintenance per established policies and procedures.
• Prevent data loss or outages by careful maintenance and testing.
• Manage technology in remote environments and ensure remote access security.
• Review tickets per service level agreements tracked in the service manager database.
• Provide initial response, Level 1 and Level 2 escalation for outages.
• Schedule maintenance actions in a timely manner.
• Create PowerShell and VBScript scripts to automate routine tasks.
• Facilitate migration of systems into cloud infrastructure.
• Daily system monitoring to verify integrity and availability of hardware and systems.
• Review logs to verify backups and successful job completion.
• Apply OS patches and upgrades regularly and upgrade admin tools.
• Configure/add new services as necessary.
• Research innovative approaches for system administration tasks.
• Prepare technical assessments with tasks, estimated timeframes, and effort.
