Amazon is looking for a Senior Vendor Manager who will have full P&L responsibility of the business category. The Senior Vendor Manager is constantly innovating on behalf of customers, and you will own the partnerships that get us to the right experience for our customers. You will shape the business trajectory using analytical horsepower, excellent business judgment, strong vendor management and negotiation skills, and standout complex problem-solving skills. You will work with vendors of all sizes and must have the leadership presence and communication skills to represent Amazon at all levels of the organization. The right candidates will be flexible, action and results oriented, have strong ownership mindset, and be comfortable working in ambiguity.

You will shape the business to deliver the best experience for our customers. You will work closely with both internal and external partnerships to execute the strategy you develop. You will coordinate with tech teams, supply chain teams, marketing teams, and other business stakeholders across the company to bring your vision to fruition. You will monitor and react to customer needs and feedback.

Key job responsibilities:

  1. Creates long-term category strategies that drive topline growth
  2. Partner closely with operations, supply chain, marketing, advertising, finance, and product management to drive the business
  3. Develops and implements action plans based on deep-dive analysis of input metrics
  4. Drives customer and business opportunities to deliver long-term strategy for multiple sub-categories
  5. Owns the relationship with strategic vendors, including negotiations to deliver top- and bottom-line category growth
  6. Owns the Retail P&L for multiple categories; develops plans that drive revenue and margin improvement for the business
  7. Dives deep into inputs and understands the downstream impact of changes to pricing, selection, and convenience for multiple categories
  8. Identifies areas that need vendor attention and directs team to address issues; acts as escalation point, helping team and vendor(s) resolve conflicts
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  1. 5+ years of account management, project or program management or buying experience
  2. Bachelor's degree
  3. Knowledge of Microsoft Access or SQL
  4. Experience driving internal cross-team collaboration
  5. Experience using data to influence business decisions
  6. Experience with business analysis and P&L management
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  1. Experience driving direction and alignment with cross-functional teams

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $109,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
