Job summary

Aquent is seeking an experienced Industrial Design professional to translate bold concepts into production-ready surface models for autonomous mobility products. You will contribute to digital modeling of vehicle and hardware designs with strong emphasis on human-centered design and technical sophistication.

You will join a production-focused Industrial Design team, collaborating across engineering and manufacturing to ensure surfacing meets Class-A standards and packaging constraints while

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in industrial design, transportation design, mechanical engineering, or related technical field.
• 6+ years in product design and engineering with automotive or similar complex product experience.
• Proficiency in industry-standard surfacing software for Class‑A surfacing.
• Experience with advanced 3D modeling techniques including subdivision modeling.
• Understanding of the product design development lifecycle and manufacturability.
• Ability to interpret design input from sketches and verbal instructions.
• Knowledge of packaging constraints and engineering criteria.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Adaptability in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop high-quality surface models communicating design intent from sketches to production surfacing.
• Assess feasibility, surface integrity, and manufacturing considerations; suggest optimizations.
• Deliver precise surface models within project timelines and quality standards.
• Lead and participate in design reviews and presentations of surface models.
• Conduct and support surface quality evaluations.
