Job summary

NCDOT's Columbus County Equipment Shop is seeking a Vehicle/Equipment Repair Technician III to diagnose, repair, and maintain a range of light to heavy equipment. You will read schematics, move heavy objects, and document repairs and fuel/lube usage. CDL eligibility is required within 360 days of hire.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required with 3 years of related experience.
• Experience performing preventative maintenance on light, medium, or heavy trucks/equipment.
• Experience with electrical/electronic diagnostics and complex wiring.
• Experience in inventory management including parts, fuel, and lubes.
• Experience diagnosing and rebuilding hydraulic systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced diagnostics and repairs on light, medium, and heavy-duty equipment.
• Read and follow electrical/hydraulic schematics and repair instructions.
• Maintain fuel, lube inventory and repair records; assist other technicians.
