Job summary

Polaris Inc. seeks a Staff Vehicle Electrical Control Systems Engineer to own electrical features from concept to vehicle realization.

You will collaborate with product owners, architects, validation, manufacturing, and service to deliver features with clear requirements and traceability. Use MATLAB/Simulink and Stateflow for model-based development, lead cross-functional teams, and drive system-level verification.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Minimum of eight years of experience in systems engineering, electrical control systems, embedded systems, or related field.
• Experience with requirements development, systems engineering, functional decomposition, interface definition, or requirements-management tools.
• Experience with model-based engineering tools or methods such as MATLAB/Simulink, Stateflow, SysML, or UML.
• Ability to translate customer/business needs into clear technical behavior and requirements.
• Strong communication and technical leadership skills for cross-functional alignment.
• Knowledge of CAN-based embedded systems and vehicle-network data diagnostics.
• Willingness to work hands-on with vehicles and test equipment.
• Preferred experience in powersports, automotive, or complex embedded systems.

Responsibilities

• Own assigned electrical features from concept through vehicle realization and lead cross-functional execution.
• Define customer experiences and align stakeholders on feature behavior and direction.
• Write and maintain feature requirements that are clear, testable, and traceable.
• Develop system architectures, interfaces, and requirements traceability.
• Apply MATLAB/Simulink, Stateflow, and modeling methods for concept evaluation and MBSE.
• Lead cross-functional technical execution with teams to deliver features.
• Lead feature risk and compliance activities with safety, cybersecurity, and regulatory teams.
• Develop test cases and integration plans; perform vehicle testing and CAN-data analysis.
• Create prototypes to clarify concepts and validate user experience.
• Contribute to VECS engineering standards and best practices.
