Rivian Automotive seeks a Staff Vehicle Aerodynamicist to lead the aerodynamic development of its next-generation electric adventure vehicles. You will be the technical authority on vehicle aerodynamics, balancing drag, lift balance and cooling with design aesthetics from concept to production validation.

You will mentor the Aerodynamics team, communicate with executive leadership, and drive CFD campaigns and wind tunnel testing while collaborating with Thermal, NVH, Soiling, Vehicle Dynamics,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering; Master’s or PhD preferred.
• 6+ years of automotive aerodynamics experience in OEM or motorsport.
• Deep expertise with CFD codes and full-vehicle aerodynamics.
• Extensive wind tunnel testing experience and data correlation.
• Proficient CAD surface development; strong scripting capability.

Responsabilités

• Own the aerodynamic attribute for major vehicle programs and set targets.
• Collaborate with Design to guide exterior surface development.
• Lead advanced CFD campaigns and develop methods to improve correlation.
• Plan and execute wind tunnel tests and validate concepts.
• Communicate status and trade-offs to VP-level leadership.
• Mentor Senior Engineers and foster technical excellence.
• Work cross-functionally to balance cooling, drag, and performance.
