Job summary

Syngenta Seeds Field Crops in the United States seeks a Senior Scientist with expertise in molecular biology, vector construction, gene expression, and trait development to lead HT cloning workflows and vector delivery for GM and GE programs.

You will provide technical leadership, drive automation-enabled workflows, and mentor junior scientists while collaborating with cross-functional teams to advance pipelines and ensure high-quality records and data management.

Qualifications

PhD or Master’s with substantial industrial research leadership.
Strong knowledge of plant biology and genetics, especially corn/soy.
Experience with GM trait discovery and genome editing.
Proven leadership in collaborative, matrixed teams.
Excellent English written and spoken communication.

Responsibilities

Lead design and execution of high-throughput cloning platforms and vector construction.
Drive automation adoption and data-driven workflows to improve throughput and quality.
Collaborate with trait, gene expression, genome editing, and bioinformatics teams on projects.
Mentor and develop junior scientists and staff in standardized methods.
