Job summary

Cornerstone Defense LLC seeks a Senior System Administrator (VDI) to manage and optimize the organization's VDI and server environments at Ft. Meade, MD.

The role requires leadership in Windows, Linux, and Solaris, plus hands-on expertise in VMware and virtualization to support mission-critical operations. The ideal candidate has DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (Security+ CE or equivalent) and a track record of secure, scalable infrastructure delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 8+ years of Windows/Linux/Solaris system administration experience.
• Experience administering Windows, Linux, and Solaris servers with VMware/VDI expertise.
• DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (Security+ CE or equivalent) required.
• Ability to lead outages, coordinate with Tier III teams, and develop/maintain policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Serve as senior technical expert for VDI and lead all VDI-related operations, troubleshooting, and system enhancements.
• Lead resolution efforts for major outages in mission-critical environments.
• Provide strategic guidance on emerging technologies and modernization opportunities.
• Lead onboarding and standup of new enclaves and environments, ensuring security compliance.
