Job summary

Jacobs is looking for a Virtual Design & Construction (VDC) Engineer to join their Advanced Manufacturing Group. This site-based role allows flexibility for any location in the United States, especially near a Jacobs U.S. office.

The successful candidate will provide leadership in VDC/BIM management, ensuring alignment with client and internal goals while overseeing project technical setups and model deliverables. The position requires a strong background in BIM technologies, excellent leadership abilities, and a willingness to work collaboratively in both on-site and virtual settings.

Qualifications

• At least 7 years of experience in VDC/BIM roles within the construction industry.
• Strong understanding of BIM technologies and their application in manufacturing environments.
• Experience developing and implementing BIM execution plans.

Responsibilities

• Provide VDC/BIM management by aligning technologies with client objectives.
• Lead the creation of BIM Execution Plans and oversee clash detection.
• Manage the Common Data Environment for project technical setup.

Skills

VDC/BIM experience in construction

BIM software proficiency (Revit, Navisworks, etc.)

Laser scanning and point cloud data management

Excellent communication skills

Leadership in onsite VDC activities

Education

Bachelor's degree in relevant field
