Job summary

Jobtailor seeks a VDC Coordinator to independently manage VDC coordination and reality capture tasks on diverse projects in a fast-paced environment. You will apply BIM standards and BEP, ensuring high-quality deliverables while coordinating with the VDC Manager and regional teams.

The role requires 3-4 years of VDC experience, strong leadership and communication, and proficiency with 3D design software and reality capture tools to support constructability reviews.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, BIM or related field.
  • 3-4 years of VDC Coordination experience.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Strong time-management and analytical skills.
  • Strong knowledge and proficiency with BIM and design software.
  • Knowledge of complex design concepts and integrated building components and systems.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment while coaching VDC engineers.
  • Ability to create 3D coordination models to facilitate the coordination process.
  • Strong proficiency with reality capture hardware, software, and processes.
  • Strong proficiency with 3D software and ability to model, dissect, and leverage the software for construction purposes.
  • Ability to read construction schedules and tie activities to VDC deliverables.
  • Ability to prioritize project tasks to achieve project VDC deliverables deadlines.
  • Ability to display areas of subject matter expertise.

Responsibilities

  • Independently completes VDC coordination and reality capture processes with little supervision.
  • Supports the implementation of Baseline and Enterprise VDC standards.
  • Applies BIM Standards and BEP on projects.
  • Ensures quality and execution of day-to-day VDC deliverables and communicates issues to the VDC Manager as needed.
  • Assists in drafting project coordination schedule and reviews with the VDC Manager.
  • Coaches and mentors less experienced team members in other regions/Business Units.
  • Communicates with project teams; facilitates meetings to resolve issues, review schedules, or other documentation.
  • Utilizes 3D design software to identify, communicate, and resolve project challenges.
  • Utilizes Reality Capture technology to support project deliverables.
  • Combines all building discipline models into the coordination model.
  • Reviews coordination model for constructability issues using clash detection.
  • Assigns responsible parties and documents with minutes, submittals, RFIs, and updated models.
  • Displays areas of subject matter expertise.
  • Gains exposure to various project delivery methods and market sectors.
  • Participates in BU office activities including orientation and training.
  • Responsible for 2-4 VDC deliverables under supervision.
  • Collaborates with business development to align with sales metrics.

Responsibilities
  • Independently Completes VDC Coordination and Reality Capture processes with little supervision
  • Supports the implementation of Baseline and Enterprise VDC standards
  • Understands and applies Building Information Modeling (BIM) Standards and Specifications (BS&S) and BIM Execution Plan (BEP) on projects
  • Responsible for the quality and execution of day-to-day VDC project deliverables and processes; relays project issues and staffing and equipment challenges to the VDC Manager as needed
  • May assist in drafting project coordination schedule and reviewing with the VDC Manager
  • Coaches and mentors less experienced team members in other regions/Business Units (BUs)
  • Communicates with internal and external project teams; facilitates meetings to resolve project issues, review schedules, or other project documentation
  • Utilizes 3D design software to identify, communicate, and resolve project challenges
  • Utilizes Reality Capture technology, such as laser scanning and drones, to support project deliverables
  • Combines all building discipline models into the coordination model
  • Reviews the coordination model for constructability issues utilizing the software’s clash detection capabilities
  • Assigns responsible party(ies) for issue resolution; verifies and documents with meeting minutes, submittals, RFIs, and updated models
  • Displays areas of subject matter expertise
  • Gains exposure to various project delivery methods and market sectors, and how to apply VDC
  • Participates in BU office and department activities including orientation programs, training sessions, and peer group meetings
  • Responsible for 2-4 project VDC deliverables under little supervision
  • Supports a positive and inclusive work environment
  • Collaborates closely with business development to ensure seamless integration with sales strategies including performance metrics on assigned projects, pursuits, and client deliverables
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Building Information Modeling (BIM) or related field
  • 3-4 years of VDC Coordination experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Strong problem‑solving skills
  • Strong time‑management and analytical skills
  • Strong knowledge and proficiency with BIM and design software
  • Knowledge of complex design concepts and integrated building components and systems
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
