Job summary

Responsibilities

• Lead constructability and coordination tasks on projects using technology and processes.
• Independently complete VDC coordination and reality capture processes with little supervision.
• Support implementation of Baseline and Enterprise VDC standards.
• Apply BIM Standards and Specifications (BS&S) and BIM Execution Plans (BEP).
• Deliver and manage day-to-day VDC project deliverables and processes.
• Relay project issues and staffing or equipment challenges to the VDC Manager.
• Assist with project coordination schedules and review them with the VDC Manager.
• Coach and mentor less experienced team members across regions and business units.
• Communicate with internal and external project teams and facilitate issue-resolution meetings.
• Use 3D design software to identify, communicate, and resolve project challenges.
• Use laser scanning, drones, and other reality capture technology.
• Combine building discipline models into coordination models.
• Review coordination models for constructability issues using clash detection.
• Assign responsible parties for issue resolution and verify/document resolutions through meeting minutes, submittals, RFIs, and updated models.
• Participate in office and department activities, orientation programs, training sessions, and peer group meetings.
• Manage 2-4 project VDC deliverables with little supervision.
• Collaborate with business development on sales strategies, performance metrics, pursuits, client deliverables, and industry relationships

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Building Information Modeling (BIM) or related field
• 3-4 years of VDC Coordination experience
• Equivalent combination of education and experience accepted
• Strong problem-solving, time-management, analytical, leadership, communication, and organizational skills
• Strong knowledge and proficiency with BIM and design software
• Knowledge of complex design concepts and integrated building components and systems
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment while coaching and mentoring VDC engineers
• Ability to create 3D coordination models
• Strong proficiency with reality capture hardware, software, and processes
• Strong proficiency with 3D software
• Ability to read construction schedules and tie activities to VDC deliverables
• Ability to prioritize project tasks to achieve VDC deliverable deadlines
• Must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test
