Job summary

Clayco is seeking a Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) Senior Engineer to join our growing team. You will support the design-build process, applying BIM and digital practice technologies across design analysis, pre-construction, construction, and handover phases.

You will collaborate with design teams and subs, provide technical in-house support, assist with quantity take-offs, and help implement BIM best practices. This role offers travel to project sites nationwide.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering or Construction Management.
• 3-5 years of experience in the AEC industry, especially MEP coordination.
• Minimum 3 years of experience with VDC/BIM related processes.
• Solid knowledge of construction principles/practices.
• Minimum 3 years of experience with Autodesk Building Design Suite (Revit, Assemble Systems, AutoCAD, Navisworks) and related tools.
• Willing to travel and relocate to a job site.

Responsibilities

• Provide assistance to the design-build team to facilitate 3D and 2D coordination.
• Liaison with the design team and project subcontractors through BIM-centric activities.
• Provide technical support for in-house applications.
• Assist Pre-Con with quantities extraction and scheduling.
• Coach project teams in BIM best practices.
• Coordinate 3D content modeled by others and model content not provided.
• Perform 4D virtual building analysis with scheduling teams.
• Perform 5D virtual building analysis with the estimating team.
• Perform and document clash detection on the virtual model and assist in resolving conflicts.
• Take-off material quantities for conceptual estimating using BIM technologies.
• Manage model changes through design updates and as-built conditions.
• Serve as information manager and gatekeeper for project duration.
