Job summary

Motion Recruitment in Palo Alto, CA is seeking a Senior Validation Technician for a 12+ month contract to be worked onsite. You will set up and run development and validation tests on High Voltage Power Electronics and generate comprehensive test reports.

You will select and install instrumentation, operate standard test equipment, and fabricate fixtures or harnesses as needed to support development and validation activities.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of environmental validation testing.
• 3+ years fabricating special electronic test equipment and test harnesses.
• 3+ years using MS Excel, SQL, Python, Jira and Atlassian Products.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and use manufacturers' data sheets.
• High voltage safety practices.
• Experience using machine shop equipment.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced development environment.
• Willing to work flexible hours and travel up to 20%.

Responsibilities

• Select and install instrumentation to collect response data during testing (accelerometers, strain gauges, pressure gauges, thermocouples, voltage sense leads).
• Utilize standard test equipment (power supplies, oscilloscopes, multimeters, flowmeters) and fabricate special test equipment as needed.
• Support design and fabrication of simple mechanical fixtures, jigs, and harnesses.

Seeking a Senior Validation Technician for a 12+ month contract opening working onsite in Palo Alto, CA.

Responsibilities

• Set up and run development and validation tests (thermal, vibration, humidity, corrosion, electrical performance) on High Voltage Power Electronic Document test results and provide test reports.
• Support technical root cause and resolution of issues found during test Select and install instrumentation needed to collect response data from the test item during testing (accelerometers, strain gauges, pressure gauges, thermocouples, voltage sense leads, etc.)
• Utilize standard test equipment such as power supplies, oscilloscopes, multimeters and flowmeters with no direction. Fabricate special test equipment supporting development and validation testing.
• Support design and fabrication of simple mechanical fixtures, jigs, and harnesses.

Qualifications

• Technical degree in electronics or mechanics preferred.
• 3+ years of experience with environmental validation testing 3+ years of experience fabricating special electronic test equipment and test harnesses.
• 3+ years using MS Excel, SQL, Python, Jira and Atlassian Products
• Ability to use MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio.
• Experience working with high voltage and an understanding of high voltage safety practices.
• Experience using common machine shop equipment preferred. High level of soldering skill preferred.
• Understand how to read electrical schematics and use manufacturers' product data sheets.
• High level of interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced development environment.
• Willing to work flexible hours and passionate about getting jobs done.
• Ability to support testing at outside testing facilities.
• Ability to travel to external testing facilities up to 20%.

Skills

• Digital Oscilloscope, Humidity Chambers, Thermal Testing
• Experience in Supply Chain or Manufacturing Product Lifecycle Management departments
• Experience working with engineering leads to establish acceptance criteria for development work and user acceptance testing efforts
• Be comfortable with database queries to measure performance KPIs and evaluate experiments
• Experience with ReactJS, GraphQL and web development is a plus
• Experience with Figma, Lucid and any other design tool is a plus
