Job summary

Microchip Technology Inc. is seeking a Staff Engineer-Validation to lead validation strategies for high-speed connectivity devices, including Ethernet, USB, and PCI-Express interfaces.

You will supervise lab-based validation activities, collaborate with Design, Verification, Applications, Marketing, and Product Engineering teams, and mentor junior engineers. The role emphasizes ownership of validation processes, test environments, and actionable results to drive design decisions across programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline required.
• 12+ years of combined experience in high-speed digital design/testing, analog/mixed-signal design/testing, or system design/testing.
• Experience driving cross-functional teams and mentoring junior engineers.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead development, ownership, and execution of validation strategies and test plans aligned with product requirements and schedules.
• Perform lab-based validation including design bring-up, characterization, and interoperability testing for high-speed devices.
• Review and communicate validation results, debug findings, and recommendations to stakeholders.
• Design test environments including software, lab equipment, and test boards.
