The position operates primarily at Caterpillar's Mossville, IL site with travel up to 10% and relocation support. Strong debugging, Linux familiarity, and autonomy tech understanding are preferred for success.

Qualifications

• Experience validating autonomous, robotic, or automated vehicle systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities; troubleshoot complex issues.
• Familiarity with Linux operating system.
• Understanding of autonomy technologies such as path planning, perception, localization, or vehicle controls.
• Experience with data analysis and root cause investigation using test or field-generated data.
• Ability to work with cross-functional engineering teams and communicate results clearly.
• Ability to work with limited supervision.

Responsibilities

• Execute system integration and validation activities for the Command for Hauling autonomous mining truck program.
• Conduct testing at the BB Test Track using surrogate vehicles to validate autonomous system functionality, performance, and safety requirements.
• Develop, integrate, troubleshoot, and evaluate autonomy software systems used on autonomous mining machines.
• Analyze test and operational data to identify root causes, resolve complex technical issues, and improve overall system performance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering, software development, and testing teams to deliver high-quality autonomous solutions and communicate technical results.
