In this hybrid role in San Francisco, you will help evolve a dedicated design system by creating visual standards that support consistency and accessibility across product surfaces. You will also leverage AI-powered design workflows, including Figma Make and generative AI tools, to prototype, extend, and scale component libraries faster.

What you’ll actually be doing
- Drive the evolution of the dedicated design system for Informatica products by delivering high-quality visual assets including UI mockups, icons, illustrations, and component specifications that reinforce consistency and accessibility across all products.
- Partner with UX product designers, visual design leads, and UI engineers to validate, scale, and ship design solutions across responsive and accessible surfaces.
- Write and govern component usage documentation so design standards are clearly understood and applied consistently by teams building against the system.
- Leverage AI-powered design tools, including Figma Make, generative AI, and emerging prototyping tools, to prototype, animate, and extend design system components.
- Champion design standards through design reviews, constructive feedback, and implementation support with dev and QA.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience designing user interfaces for enterprise web products, with a strong portfolio showing visual design craft, component-level thinking, and design system contribution.
- System-level thinking and deep knowledge of responsive, accessible, and inclusive design, with the ability to explain those decisions in component guidelines and specs.
- Fluency in AI-assisted design workflows, including how tools like Claude, Figma Make, and generative AI can accelerate design system work.
- Understanding of component design and design tokens, plus how design systems scale across teams.
- Experience writing or governing component usage documentation at scale, translating design decisions into guidelines others can apply.
- Strong visual design skills and a design related degree or design training required.
Even better if you have
- Hands-on experience with Figma Make, Claude, or similar AI prototyping tools.
- Working knowledge of web and mobile to connect design specs to front-end implementation.
- A user-centered design perspective that considers the full range of users, including those with accessibility needs.
- Experience with UX methods and design thinking, including running cross-functional workshops, framing problem definitions, and validating design solutions to drive alignment across teams.
Compensation and location
San Francisco, CA (hybrid). Estimated base salary range: USD 148,500 - 223,900 per year.
