Job summary

Envision Innovative Solutions in Annapolis Junction, Maryland is seeking a motivated User Experience Designer to join our team onsite. You will lead the plan, design and development of user experiences for devices, tools and systems, collaborating with subject matter experts to shape interactions.

The role requires ten years of UX design experience, leadership over project lifecycles, and a BS in CS or related field (or 4 additional UX years).

Qualifications

Ten years' experience in User Experience Design.
Five years' experience within the last 10 years’ experience leading project life cycle design.
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Four (4) years of additional User Experience Design experience on projects with similar design may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.
Experience with Information Technology: Three (3) years’ experience with screen mock‑up tools (e.g. PowerPoint, Visio, Axure) and related industry tools used to create visual displays and prototypes.

Responsibilities

Lead the plan, design and development activities to create the user experience for devices, tools and systems.
Establish interactive conventions, gather user requirements, mock up experiences, and discuss trade-offs with development teams and SMEs.
Apply visualization and screen design expertise to create a successful user experience.
Support UX Lead by conducting user research sessions (interviews, usability tests, contextual inquiries).
Execute discussion guides, screeners, and research protocols as defined by the UX Lead.
Observe and document user behaviors, pain points, and patterns during sessions.
Administer quantitative data collection methods (surveys, card sorting, tree testing).
Compile and organize raw research data for synthesis by the UX lead.
