Job summary

Slate is looking for a Principal UX Designer to lead high-impact UX initiatives across vehicle programs and digital interfaces. You will establish UX processes to drive ease of use and consistency across Slate products, collaborating with Brand, Design, HMI, Engineering and Software teams.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years of experience, a Bachelor's in UX, and a track record in automotive or consumer electronics contexts.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in User Experience Design, HMI, communications, or related UX field.
10+ years professional work experience leading high impact UX projects.
Experience in interface design and evaluation; extensive knowledge of UX approaches and methodologies.
Passion for emerging technologies, new interaction models, apps, and interactive interfaces.
Proven strategic thinker and collaborator who thrives in ambiguous problem spaces.
Active engagement with teammates and proactive initiation of new projects.
Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills.
Proficient writing and speaking in English.
Deep understanding of accessibility and inclusivity in UX.

Responsibilities

Participate in UX strategy, planning, and reviews.
Promote user-centric approach and apply UX methodologies to validate design decisions.
Build relationships with Brand, Design, HMI, Engineering and Software teams.
Balance strategic and tactical initiatives to solve critical user needs.
Articulate insights and actionable UX recommendations to executives.
