Role Overview

As part of the Participant UX team, this role focuses on engagement & program design and strategy for Verily’s health programs and research studies. The goal is to craft user experiences that foster participation and long-term motivation, grounded in behavioral science and engagement tactics. The ideal candidate excels in systems-level thinking and service design, collaborating across teams to deliver clear, motivating experiences.

Responsibilities
  • Manage a team of UX Designers, guiding them from product definition to detailed designs, providing ongoing support and direction.
  • Develop product strategy, influence the roadmap, and plan UX resources to meet creative and technical requirements.
  • Design user-centered services and experiences that enhance engagement, growth, and behavior change in Verily’s health programs and studies.
  • Represent UX in cross-functional leadership forums and strategic discussions.
  • Promote a user-focused culture inspired by empathy, humility, and Product Excellence principles.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
  • 8+ years in UX design; 2+ years managing or leading UX teams.
  • Portfolio demonstrating comprehensive UX process skills, from strategy to high-quality product delivery.
  • Strong systems thinking and ability to solve complex design challenges.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and collaboration skills, capable of articulating complex concepts to diverse audiences.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with cross-platform products, healthcare, medical services, AI, or related fields.
  • Knowledge of service design methodologies and applying them to complex user journeys.
  • Ability to align user insights with business goals and demonstrate UX impact organization-wide.
