Job Title: Sr. UX Systems Designer

Job Location: Remote - US

Own end-to-end UX and systems design for Collectivus’ shared services digital product organization, a cross-functional team of digital, backend and data, enterprise systems, and product functions serving the needs of our retailer customers and internal business users. Core products include websites, mobile apps, email marketing, and enterprise systems. The role sits within the digital product function and is accountable for design outcomes: how products look, feel, and perform for the people who use them. This role turns business and customer problems into clear, usable, and consistent digital experiences, and owns the design system that lets every team build on a shared foundation. This is a senior-level individual contributor who works directly with Product and Engineering to keep design decisions grounded, the design system current, and the craft bar high.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own the design system: reusable components, templates, and standards that let every team ship faster while maintaining brand and UX consistency.
  • Own UX design for our core digital products, translating business and customer needs into intuitive frameworks and end-to-end experiences across products, platforms, and touchpoints.
  • Own design quality: accessibility, usability, and craft standards that protect the business from legal and reputational risk.
  • Own the prototyping and validation loop, de-risking decisions in Figma before engineering investment.
  • Own design’s voice with stakeholders, presenting rationale to cross-functional partners and leadership and defending design decisions under pressure.
  • Own design’s contribution to delivery: build-ready assets delivered on time against sprint commitments.
  • Accountable for: design system adoption, design-to-build handoff time, usability outcomes, and on-time delivery of design work.
Design System & Standards
  • Create and maintain the design system of reusable components and templates, enabling every team, including those not delivering to build, to move faster while maintaining brand and UX consistency.
  • Evangelize design system adherence to keep products consistent as they scale, and own the call on when to extend the system versus build a one-off.
  • Track and grow design system adoption rate across teams, closing gaps between what’s designed and what’s actually implemented.
  • Monitor component reuse vs. new component creation ratio, keeping the system lean and preventing component proliferation.
  • Deeply understand the network of digital products and solutions in the Collectivus tech stack and make strategic design decisions that consider the system as a whole.
  • Define usability and accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1 AA) and hold the team’s output to them.
Usability
  • Deeply understand the internal and external customers of each business unit and deliver UX that fits their needs.
  • Translate business and user needs into intuitive UX frameworks and solutions, delivering scalable end-to-end experiences across products, platforms, and touchpoints.
  • Partner with the UX & Systems Strategist and Product Manager on user testing, shaping research questions and delivering prototypes for demonstration.
  • Define and design for A/B testing initiatives to validate design decisions with data.
  • Own usability outcomes and be accountable for related KPIs, including task/process completion rate and reduction in abandonment rate.
Prototyping & Delivery Collaboration
  • Prototype and iterate quickly in Figma to de-risk decisions before engineering investment, minimizing prototype-to-decision cycle time.
  • Partner closely with Product and Engineering throughout discovery, scoping, and delivery.
  • Support design review and UAT steps in the development pipeline.
  • Deliver against an array of digital products, including website, app, email, and business interfaces.
  • Reduce design-to-build handoff time and UX/UI-related engineering rework by delivering build-ready specs, redlines, and assets ahead of hand-off.
  • Hold design deliverables to on-time delivery against sprint commitments, and flag risk to Product and Engineering early.
Communications & Stakeholder Management
  • Present design rationale to cross-functional stakeholders and leadership, and incorporate feedback constructively.
  • Act as the voice of Collectivus UX when partnering with external vendors.
  • Build stakeholder satisfaction and influence through structured feedback loops and consistent follow-through on design commitments.
  • Work directly with the Product Owner, Product Manager, developers, and business systems analysts day-to-day on optimization, enhancement, A/B testing, KTLO, and BAU work.
Design Quality & Delivery Metrics
  • Own design system health: track design system adoption rate, component reuse vs. new component creation ratio, and design-to-build handoff time, and use them to prioritize system investment.
  • Partner with Engineering to drive reduction in UX/UI-related engineering rework through build-ready specs, tighter handoff, and proactive design QA.
  • Own usability outcomes: track task/process completion rate and drive reduction in abandonment rate across core flows.
  • Track prototype-to-decision cycle time to keep discovery and validation loops fast and decisions grounded in evidence.
  • Maintain stakeholder satisfaction and influence, and report on-time delivery against sprint commitments on a regular cadence.
Who You Are

  • Precise and structured in specs, redlines, documentation, and design system standards.
  • Runs concurrent design workstreams without dropping threads; steady under pressure.
  • Improves the design system and practice rather than just maintaining them.
  • Strong facilitation and communication skills; comfortable presenting to and influencing senior stakeholders without relying on formal authority.
  • 7+ years of UX/product design experience, including website, app, and email, with a strong portfolio demonstrating end-to-end design process from discovery through polished UI.
  • Experience building or maintaining a design system in a product organization; expert-level fluency in Figma and modern design/prototyping tools.
  • Working knowledge of Agile/Scrum product development and how design fits into that cadence.
  • Familiarity with accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1 AA) and inclusive design practices; comfortable using usability, adoption, and delivery data to inform design decisions.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience designing for enterprise environments and business-facing tools.
  • Experience with complex, data-dense, or workflow-heavy B2B interfaces.
  • Experience building design tokens or a component library used across multiple codebases or platforms.
  • Background partnering with compliance, legal, or brand stakeholders on design and accessibility standards.
  • Experience mentoring designers or setting craft standards within a design team.
