Job summary

The role requires forestry education and several years in utility vegetation management, with licenses or certifications in pesticides and arboriculture being desirable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in forestry or related field with 3 years in utility vegetation management OR Associate's degree with 5 years in the industry OR HS diploma with 7 years in the utility industry.
• Licenses/Certificates: Safe use of pesticides; Certified Pesticide Applicator license desirable; Arborist certification desirable.
• Willingness to obtain licenses/certifications if not current.

Responsibilities

• Patrol lines and facilities to assess vegetative conditions and plan vegetation management operations.
• Coordinate access with landowners for vegetation work and site inspections.
• Investigate and resolve landowner issues and concerns.
• Estimate vegetation management requirements and costs for projects and rebuilds.
• Plan short- and long-term vegetation management work and best practices.
• Coordinate with agencies, utilities, landowners to align work plans.
• Inspect contractors for compliance and guide corrective actions.
• Prepare reports on costs, production and work quality.
