Job summary

System One is seeking a seasoned Utility Superintendent to lead underground utility construction across NC and SC. You will manage multiple crews, coordinate foremen, and ensure safe, on-time delivery of water, sewer, and storm projects.

Responsibilities include planning, reading plans, and overseeing production, safety, and closeout activities on site. Strong leadership and field-management skills are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Proven utility superintendent or equivalent heavy civil leadership.
• Experience managing multiple crews and foremen.
• Strong background in water, sewer and/or storm installation.
• Responsible for production, manpower, equipment and sequencing.
• Ability to run underground work from layout through testing and closeout.
• Solid knowledge of trenching, excavation and utility safety.

Responsibilities

• Lead multiple utility crews installing water, sewer and storm.
• Direct foremen and coordinate field manpower, equipment and materials
• Plan daily production and job sequencing
• Read civil plans, profiles, cut sheets and utility drawings
• Coordinate pipe operations with grading, paving, survey and project management
• Manage inspections, testing, existing utility conflicts and changing field conditions
• Maintain safe production around trenches, excavations, shoring and heavy equipment
• Develop foremen and hold field teams accountable for safety, quality and production
