Job summary

Liberty Utilities Co. is seeking an in-house attorney to provide regulatory counsel for electric, gas, and water utilities, primarily in Missouri. The role works with leadership, regulatory teams, and other business group leaders to navigate state and federal regulatory processes.

Ideal candidates hold a J.D. with seven or more years in utility regulatory law, are licensed in Missouri, and have experience before regulatory commissions in rate cases and related proceedings. Travel within the U.S.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor Degree from an accredited law school with at least seven (7) years of experience in utility regulatory law.
  • Must be licensed to practice law or eligible to obtain licensure in Missouri.
  • Experience handling rate cases and regulatory matters before commissions; strong regulatory knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Act as in-house subject matter expert on regulatory issues for electric, gas and water utilities.
  • Develop legal strategies relating to regulatory filings, rate cases and compliance.
  • Prepare filings, testimony and regulatory submissions; advise leadership and teams.
