Job summary

The City of Chandler Public Works & Utilities Department is seeking a qualified Utility Mechanic Senior to support water production at remote facilities. This role emphasizes skilled preventative maintenance and mechanical repairs at water, wastewater, and related sites.

Working hours are Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. A strong benefits package and professional development opportunities are offered. A valid driver’s license and state certifications are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 3 years of industrial mechanical maintenance experience in pump repair or plumbing.
• Valid Driver's License with acceptable driving record.
• ADEQ Grade 1 Water Treatment Certification required on hire/promotion.
• ADEQ Grade 1 Water Distribution Certification required on hire/promotion.
• Pass a respirator fit test within six months of hire/promotion.
• Obtain a 40-hour HAZWOPER Certification within six months of hire/promotion.
• Obtain an ADEQ Grade 2 Water Treatment Certification within one year of hire/promotion.

Responsibilities

• Perform skilled preventative maintenance and mechanical repair duties at water, wastewater, or RO facilities and remote sites.
• Lead projects as a lead worker when assigned.
• Coordinate with operations to ensure reliable water production and compliance.
