Job Title: User Experience (UX) Designer

Location: Austin, TX (3x4 days hybrid onsite)

Duration: 6 Months (or as per project requirements)

Type: Full-Time, Contract

Description:

User Experience and Design team is responsible for software design across advisor services platforms, including desktop and responsive mobile applications. We are a multi-disciplinary team of UX designers, visual designers, content writers, and researchers. Our mission is to design tools and experiences that enable users to achieve their financial goals. We collaborate with strategic business and technology partners to create best-in-class software experiences, driven by a user-centered design approach.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design Consulting:
  • Facilitate collaborative design sessions, including sketching and ideation.
  • Lead design reviews and drive decision-making.
  • Create design solutions considering all aspects of the advisor and end-client experience.
  • Translate established patterns and design systems to meet company goals.
  • Visualize ideas through sketches, diagrams, wireframes, or prototypes and provide appropriate documentation.
  • Design Management:
  • Set expectations with the project team and prioritize activities.
  • Communicate project status and agreements with the team.
  • Review work with UX managers and escalate issues as needed.
  • Design Expertise and Execution:
  • Maintain high design standards and create deliverables at an expert level.
  • Conduct primary design activities and QA.
  • Participate in and support user research efforts.
  • Commit to improving design processes and methods for effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Teamwork, Collaboration, and Engagement:
  • Collaborate effectively with all partners to deliver high-quality work.
  • Support UX team members and strategically listen to feedback.
  • Maintain a collaborative and cooperative attitude.
  • Demonstrate passion for the teams mission and user needs.
  • Understand user needs and advocate for their perspectives.
  • Focus on innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Stay updated on design theory, practice, and tools.

  • Expertise in foundational UX principles.
  • Experience executing high-fidelity designs.
  • Documentation and project tracking experience (Confluence, Jira).
  • Education and Experience:
  • 6+ years of interaction design experience focused on digital products.
  • An online portfolio demonstrating interaction design process and thinking.
  • Experience with user-centered design processes, including user research, user flows, wireframes, usability testing, and annotated design specifications.
  • Proficiency in design tools like Sketch, Figma, Mural, and InVision.
  • Experience working in Agile development methodologies.
  • Strong self-management skills and ability to manage project schedules.
  • Experience running design sessions with cross-functional teams.
  • Effective relationship-building skills to partner cross-functionally and across the enterprise.
  • Comfort in a project-oriented environment with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
