This role is eligible for a hybrid role, however applicant must be able to commute to the Indianapolis office 3 days per week

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and licensed Senior Urban Planner/Landscape Architect with over 8 years of professional experience to join our Indianapolis office. The ideal candidate will lead and manage a variety of projects for local government agencies, demonstrating a high level of creativity, technical expertise, and leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Oversee the planning, design, and implementation of complex urban planning and/or landscape architecture projects, ensuring alignment with client objectives and regulatory requirements.
2. Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including civil engineers, surveyors, utility coordinators, etc., to develop comprehensive design solutions.
3. Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, maintaining strong relationships and ensuring satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
4. Develop innovative design concepts and detailed plans for various projects, including parks, streetscapes, and urban developments.
5. Review and approve project documents, including drawings, specifications, and cost estimates, to ensure accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
6. Provide guidance and mentorship to junior staff, fostering professional development and knowledge sharing within the team.

Required Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Landscape Architecture or Urban Design.
2. Minimum of 8 years of professional experience in landscape architecture and urban planning, with a proven track record of managing complex projects.
3. Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, and familiarity with ArcGIS and Lumion is a plus.
4. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively present ideas and interact with clients and stakeholders.
5. Demonstrated ability to lead project teams, manage projects, and deliver results within established timelines.

Preferred:

1. Professional Certification through American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP)
2. Possession of a valid license as a Registered Landscape Architect
3. A self-starter with a passion for innovative design and a desire to create impactful solutions across various project scales.
4. Experience in developing public outreach materials and facilitating community engagement processes, including public workshops and design charrettes.
5. Knowledge of sustainable design practices and a commitment to integrating environmentally responsible solutions into projects.
