Job summary

A leading IT services provider is seeking a Unix Administrator for a contract opportunity in Durham, NC. The ideal candidate will have 8-10 years of experience in UNIX System Administration, with a strong background in HP-UX, Solaris, and RHEL. Responsibilities include providing technical leadership, managing high availability systems, and ensuring effective disaster recovery solutions. The role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to provide support after-hours. Immediate start available for a position lasting over 2 months.

Qualifications

• 8-10 years experience as a UNIX System Administrator.
• Strong background in HP-UX 10/11.
• Strong background in Solaris 2.6/7/8/9/10 and RHEL 4.x/5.x.
• Requires excellent communication skills and ability to be available after-hours.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership in daily system support and operation for critical production systems.
• Create robust, high availability and secure design for UNIX/Linux server infrastructure.
• Manage HP/UX environment in Production/Testing/Development environments.
• Administer Systems Monitoring; Troubleshoot SW/HW Issues Methodically.
